Fleming “Mike” Legg Joins Blank Rome Government Relations as Senior Advisor

Blank Rome Government Relations LLC (“BRGR”) is pleased to announce that Fleming “Mike” Legg has joined the Firm as a Senior Advisor in its Washington, D.C., office. A career U.S. Army officer, Mike brings extensive congressional experience to BRGR, most recently serving as a professional staff member for the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and working extensively on facilitating communications and strategic initiatives with the Department of Defense (“DOD”) and State Department (“DOS”) as well as for foreign diplomatic missions.

Mike’s extensive Army career, strong communications skills, and congressional background will be instrumental to BRGR’s long-term growth and objectives.”

During his Army intelligence career, Mike served as a congressional liaison officer for both the U.S. Army Office of the Chief of Legislative Affairs, House Liaison Division, and the U.S. Special Operations Command Legislative Affairs. In these roles, he facilitated substantial communications between the Pentagon, U.S. House of Representatives, and U.S. Senate, as well as visits by congressional members and oversight committees to military installations, facilities, and ongoing deployments. He also developed a comprehensive strategy to defend special operations funding within the president’s budget and established broad support in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate for special operations requirements, capabilities, and personnel.

In addition to his public sector experience, Mike served as vice president for strategic initiatives at NEK Advanced Securities Group where he identified and developed long-term, strategic business opportunities and established collaborative relationships with the Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, DOD, DOS, and industry customers. He also served as a principal and founder of Legg, Perkins & Associates, LLC in Washington, D.C., a government relations/consulting firm primarily focused on assisting small to mid-size businesses in the defense and homeland security sector. 

Mike has Top Secret Clearance and attended the Post Graduate Intelligence Program at the National Defense Intelligence College at Bolling Air Force Base. He earned his B.S. at James Madison University.
