Hurricane Helene left a trail of destruction across the southeastern United States impacting Florida, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. And Hurricane Milton soon followed.

Blank Rome’s Severe Weather Emergency Recovery Team (“SWERT”) is an interdisciplinary group of Blank Rome attorneys and government relations professionals with decades of experience helping companies and individuals recover from severe weather events, including Hurricanes Maria, Irma, Michael, Florence, Harvey, Andrew, and Katrina, and Superstorm Sandy. Our team is co-led by Blank Rome Government Relations’ Alan Rubin—who helped reconstruct Florida after Hurricane Andrew, and who has worked with many of the city and county emergency managers throughout Florida and with the Governor’s Task Force on Preparedness for Hurricanes & Hurricane Recovery—and John Heintz, a senior counsel in our nationally recognized Insurance Recovery practice, which has helped clients recover millions of dollars on their insurance policies after severe weather events. In addition, our team includes insurance recovery, labor and employment, government contracts, environmental, and energy attorneys, and additional government relations professionals with extensive experience in disaster recovery.
