Genevieve Cowan

Biography

Genevieve Cowan brings an extensive amount of legislative and policy research experience to her role as Principal at Blank Rome Government Relations LLC.   

Genevieve joined Blank Rome from the United States Congress, where she was a legislative analyst for the Joint Committee on Taxation (“JCT”). In this role, she completed in-depth legislative policy research projects for both the committee and congressional staff concerning comprehensive tax reform, healthcare, international tax, retirement/pension benefit plans, energy, transportation, inversions, and the President’s Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Proposal. She also collaborated with the JCT and congressional staff to draft tax policy impacting both private and public sectors.

A graduate of Miami University, Genevieve received two B.A. degrees—one in Political Science and the other in International Studies with a concentration in Conflict, Peace, and Diplomacy.

Professional Activities

Genevieve serves as the director of finance for Girls Health Ed, a nonprofit organization providing accurate and comprehensive health education programming to girls and young women ages 8-17. In this role, she works with other directors and board members to generate and execute fundraising ventures, grassroots outreach programs, and international expansion opportunities.

Furthermore, Genevieve is a monthly volunteer at Food and Friends, D.C. Central Kitchen, and Martha’s Table.
