Assessing Risk, Protecting Sensitive Information and Establishing Post Breach Notification Policy Forum

Washington DC

Blank Rome Government Relations, and RSA, The Security Division of EMC co-hosted a forum entitled Assessing Risk, Protecting Sensitive Information and Establishing Post Breach Notification Policy, on October 10, 2007 at Blank Rome’s Washington, DC office.

This half day-collaborative session was aimed at digging deeper into challenges and best practices around risk assessment and preventative safeguards to manage and protect information, as well as post-breach notification processes and policies should a breach occur. We invited IT leaders and risk management officers, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Privacy Officers, Chief Security Officers and Directors of Information Security, that are interested in risk-based information-centric security and other issues, including the Office and Budget Management’s data breach requirements.

The EMC/RSA Center of Excellence has been established to foster dialog and build a best practices framework for the benefit of all government agencies, drawing on internal experts as well as front line security executives from the private sector.  We seek to feature some of the leading thinkers within the private sector as these forums are held so that federal government information security executives can learn from some of the best and brightest in industry and vice versa.

After brief initial presentations by leading experts from the private and public sector, there will be an interactive roundtable discussion followed by dialogue among all the participants.
